Honor and Glory

46th anniversary of the February 1979 uprising and 54th anniversary of the epic of Siyahkal

February 8, 1971, marks the beginning of a new chapter in the revolutionary struggles in Iran against the dictatorial regime of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi. At that terrifying time, the Shah, lulled by the illusion of the "authority" of the monarchy, claimed that Iran was an "island of peace," but suddenly, on February 8, 1971, the heroic attack by the Fedayi fighters of the Iranian people against the gendarmerie post in Siyahkal shattered this tranquility. The Shah believed that by executing a few of the comrades arrested in Siyahkal, he could completely suppress the renewal arising from the repressed anger of the people against the autocratic system, but this did not happen. The continuity of the heroic operations by the comrades of the organization and the support of the people ultimately dismantled the myth of the invincibility of the Shah’s regime and put an end to 2,500 years of monarchical domination in Iran on February 11, 1979.

Although on February 11, 1979, the people's uprising against the dictatorship succeeded, the revolution came to a halt halfway. Indeed, as the struggles of the people intensified, global capitalism, led by the United States, saw its interests increasingly threatened. For this reason, four months before the downfall of the Shah's regime, the United States brought Ayatollah Khomeini from Iraq to France and organized rampant propaganda in his favor and for the upcoming religious government. At a time when millions of workers, peasants, employees, students, and all sectors of society were fighting to establish a democratic government, the leaders of the United States, France, Germany, and Great Britain decided, at the "Guadeloupe Conference" in January 1979, to expel the Shah from Iran and place Ayatollah Khomeini in power.

Thus, American imperialism was able to establish the second Islamic regime in Iran using the experience of creating the first Islamic government in Pakistan. By bringing Islamic governments to power and strengthening reactionary ideologies, dictators like Khomeini can more easily send a generation of revolutionaries, intellectuals, and, in short, the social elites to the slaughterhouse in the name of religion and for the benefit of global capitalism. Within this framework, alongside the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Western countries have not forgotten to occasionally present themselves as "champions of human rights" in defense of the Iranian people. To complete this scenario, since the UN is influenced by the policies of Western countries, an annual statement is issued by the UN Human Rights Commission against the Iranian regime, to validate the "tireless efforts of the West" to "defend" the Iranian people. The only purpose of these statements in Western countries is for internal use, and they have not had, and will not have, little impact on preventing the unchecked repression of revolutionary forces and struggles in Iran

The disruption of the balance of power and the bipolarization of the world have created problems for the continuity of Western dominance in Iran. Currently, in addition to Western imperialists, Eastern imperialists (China and Russia) also have a strong presence in Iran and possess many interests. There are numerous reasons and observations indicating that none of the mentioned powers have any interest in overthrowing the Islamic Republic of Iran. Each of them seeks to shift the factions to their advantage. China and Russia support the conservative faction of the regime as their dominant power, while Western imperialism looks to the reformists.

It is clear that the struggle among imperialists for the lucrative Iranian market aims to strengthen their economic position and realize their future aspirations. In this open competition, Western countries still enjoy more privileges. Indeed, media power remains in the hands of the Western capitalist world. Furthermore, public opinion among some Iranians shows a preference for Western lifestyles and the imitation of Western culture rather than the East. For this reason, Western countries have managed to influence this segment of the population in their favor and portray them as representative of all of Iran. It is not surprising that most of the actors and "journalists" of Persian-language TV channels abroad are selected from among the supporters of the regime's reformist faction.

The dispersion of the opposition is not only beneficial to the ruling regime but also to the capitalist powers of the East and the West. Within the framework of the policy of division among opposition forces, the Islamic Republic of Iran has managed, for a few years, to advance its own interests abroad through the organization of Reza Pahlavi, whose leadership is in the hands of agents of the Iranian regime. Given that abroad, supporters of the crown have generally grown up under Western influence, they are currently defining and praising a system that they have never seen and in which they have never lived, without being aware of the dictatorship that prevailed 46 years ago under Pahlavi.

In such a situation, the leaders of the Islamic Republic, using infiltrators within the Pahlavi organization and Persian media abroad such as BBC Persian, Manoto, Iran International, and others, are attempting to further divert the path of the people's struggle by placing ignorant elements inside Iran on one side and those influenced by the West on the other, while relentlessly accusing the fighters and martyrs of '79, especially the left, of being responsible for the current consequences and the inefficacy of both dictatorial regimes. This maneuver has led some young people of the new generation to play into the hands of the Islamic Republic without understanding the nature of the Pahlavi regime and the unchecked dictatorship of the Shah's era.

Western countries, fearing the rise of progressive forces in Iran, constantly promote the monarchists through complete control of the media. A recent example of praise for them concerns the 800 bombings of Syria by the racist regime of Israel, which occurred after the fall of the dictatorial regime of Bashar al-Assad. These media do not hesitate to relay the monarchists’ requests to Israel for an attack on Iran. Within the framework of the policy of promoting leaders for the Iranian opposition, Reza Pahlavi brazenly claimed on Wednesday, January 30, at the American Journalists Club that he has entered the scene at the request of the Iranian people to lead them. One wonders when and where the Iranian people voted to elect Reza Pahlavi as their leader?!

Even as these media promoting Reza Pahlavi never speak of the occupation of Palestinian land by Israel or the expansion of this occupation in Syria and Lebanon.

**Competition Among Major Capitalist Powers and the Poverty of Poor Countries**

Recently, with the rise to power of Donald Trump as the new President of the United States, the extent of national conquests and acts of violence against weak countries and oppressed peoples around the world has clearly increased. Following the October 7 attack by the terrorist organization Hamas against Israel, the United States dedicated special resources for total political and military support to Israel and the destruction of Gaza. During this prolonged period, Israel, under the pretext of freeing two hundred hostages, has destroyed all infrastructure in Gaza. It is now clear that the aim of the Israeli invasion of Gaza was not only war against Hamas and the liberation of the hostages. Israel's plan, from the outset, was territorial expansion and the expulsion of Palestinians from their ancestral lands.

After the destruction of Gaza, a large part of Lebanon was destroyed by Israel, and then the Golan Heights in Syria were completely conquered. Continuing its occupation policy, Israel occupied kilometers of Syrian land, and their latest action was the seizure of Mount Hermon in Syria. In the West Bank, the situation is the same; the Israeli army has declared that it will not leave Jenin. The Israeli Minister of Defense stated that the army would remain in Jenin "to prevent the return of terrorism."

Under such conditions, Trump, who came to power with the support of the American Jewish community, plans, in return, to force the residents of Gaza to move to Egypt and Jordan. Trump's "brilliant" argument is that Gaza is destroyed and not a good place to live, so we will create a better place for them in Jordan and Egypt?! If something needs to be rebuilt, why not do it on this land that has belonged to them since their ancestors?

**Defenders of Freedom in Iran**

For 46 years, the regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran has presented itself as the representative of God on Earth through the force of bayonets, barbarism, and executions. Despite the appearance of a central government, the economic and social structure of our country is in the hands of despots who govern like lords, a system that reflects the characteristics of the feudal era. In such a system, it is only possible to plunder tens of billions of dollars of the country's wealth each year. They sell everything from oil to petrochemicals, from gold to the land of Iran, and deposit this money in countries like England, Canada, the United States, France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, and other Western nations.

These same countries, which interrogate their own citizens and foreigners when they deposit or withdraw a thousand euros through the economic security police (financial brigade), do not notice the transfer of seven billion dollars of Iranian petrochemicals to England or the three thousand billion tomans of the National Bank's balance in 2009 (billions of dollars) to Canada?!

**What is the reality and how should we confront the enemies of the people?**

In the lines above, we have briefly listed some of the tricks of imperialism and reaction to divert the people's struggles. Regarding Reza Pahlavi's subjugation to the imperialists, this family has a long history in this regard. Although the unconditional obedience of the Pahlavis to Western governments is related to their class nature, it is surprising that he does not understand which power placed his father on the throne through a coup and, when his usefulness ended, by what order he was exiled from Iran. If the tragic fate of Mohammad Reza Shah, who followed the United States, is not enough for his son, one must look for the answer in the following Persian verse:

*"The son who has no sign of his father,

Do not call him son, call him a stranger."*

Currently, the uproar in foreign media regarding the promotion of the king's son is related to upcoming negotiations with the Iranian regime. Trump does not hide that he is in favor of an agreement, and if the concessions he desires are obtained during negotiations with the Islamic Republic, the Iranian people and the regime that governs them are not his priorities. In short, the United States, Israel, Europe, China, and Russia only think of their own interests. Their support for this or that Iranian group abroad and the noise surrounding rebranded figures in Paris, London, and Washington are just as beneficial for the Iranian people as occasionally awarding "human rights" prizes or a Nobel Prize to a few undeserving individuals in Iran.

Currently, workers, laborers, and the general public in Iran are under extreme economic pressure. As long as the revolutionary, committed, and compassionate forces of society remain fragmented, the situation will not improve in favor of the Iranian people. In the current circumstances, only united action between revolutionary and activist forces can provide a point of hope for future solidarity aimed at forming a Constituent Assembly and determining the type of government for the future of Iran. Movements that present themselves as defenders of the people with the support and funding of this or that foreign power are enemies of the revolution and the Iranian people. Instead of relying on foreign powers, we must support the workers, employees, retirees, oppressed peoples, porters, fuel transporters, and millions of suffering individuals who have the ability and legitimacy to take control of their future.

On the occasion of the anniversary of this historic day, we remember the 15 Fedayi fighters of the people:

Ali Akbar Safaei Farahani, Ahmad Farhudi, Jalil Enfezari, Mehdi Esmaeghi, Eskandar Rahimi, Shoa'adin Mashidi, Mohammad Hadi Fazeli, Houshang Niri, Nasir Sif, Dalil Safaei, Mohammad Ali Mohaddith Ghandchi, Hadi Bandeh Khoda Langarudi, Ismail Mo'ayeni Iraqi, Mohammad Rahim Samai, Ghafour Hasan Pour Asil, Abbas Danesh Behzadi

who lost their lives in the struggle against the dictatorial regime of the Shah.

Long live and eternal be the memory of the fallen comrades in blood and the pioneers of Siyahkal.

Long live and eternal be the memory of all those who shed their blood during the February 1979 uprising.

Death to the regime of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Long live freedom.
